CRSSC History

CRSSC Ltd was set up by the Sure Start local programme to deliver the following:

  •  Broad Green Family Support Team (2002)

  •  Canterbury Road Nursery (2003)

  •  Peppermint Children’s Centre (2005)

The establishment of CRSSC Ltd was an opportunity to invest in the Broad Green community as part of the North West Croydon regeneration. To date we have created 37 employment opportunities; a number of which have been local parents.
Broad Green Sure Start has made a considerable capital investment in both Broad Green Children's Centre and Peppermint Children's Centre and wants to ensure the welfare of its investment.  We have a 25 year capital lease commitment.

Both Centres are registered and regulated with Ofsted and are monitored by Early Years.  Supported/online management is by Broad Green Sure Start and is accountable to the CRSCC Ltd Management Committee.

The Family Support Co-ordinator ensures the quality and standard of the service and oversees the work of the Parent Co-ordinators, based at Canterbury and Peppermint, who facilitate families’ access to the services.

Funding commitment from Broad Green Sure Start is over 5 years, 2005-2010.  Securing further funding for CRSSC from other sources is vital to the strengthen the infrastructure and long term sustainability as a Children's Centre provision.
